I own quite a few books about penguins and this is the worst one.1, It is only 32 pages2. It does not have pictures of all the penguin species.3. One of the pictures of a gentoo is labelled "adelie."4. One of the pictures is of a penguin corpse.I realize this is supposed to be for young children but that is not really an excuse for these problems. Although it was cheap, it is not a good value. Do yourself a favor and buy "Penguin Planet" by Kevin Schafer or "Penguins of the World" by Wayne Lynch instead.
I added this to a unit for first and second graders on Penguins just because Seymour Simon was a new author to me. It overlaps with some other books in the unit and I haven't used it with children yet. More to come.
Smithsonian never lets us go, for everyone interested in Penguins you cannot be without this book
Made my mother happy.
Love it
My grandson loves this book-and as expected the quality is worthy of the Smithsonian. I have been a member for years-love the museums and their products never disappoint.
It gave great pictures and info about the penquins and my granddaughter loved it
GREAT book. Great addition to my collection of penguin books. The pictures were great. This book also had a picture of the many different kinds of penguins.
