Nice book. Quite quaint to see so many lemon recipes in one place. My hubby is a mega lemon lover (<< there should be an actual term for that.) So I thought this book would be a valuable addition to my cookbook collection.The only warning I would add about this book is that the amounts of lemon that it recommends for many of the recipes is EXTREME. Like after you bake the cake, pie, whatever and take a bite out of it, you may have a hard time breathing because of the EXTREME lemonness of the dish. So temper it down a bit.Also, I made the mistake of adding lemon oil to one of the cookie recipes, as per the recipe instructions. Bad idea. Lemon oil is just TOO overpowering in it's flavor. It ruined what would have been an otherwise absolutely wonderful cookie.Other than that, I like this book a lot.

My sister-in-law has made many of these recipes, and I have had the pleasure of enjoying some of them. I still dream about the lemon meringue pie she made once. My mother made lemon meringue pie for Santa every Christmas eve, and it was great, but my sister-in-law's pie was far better (sorry, Mom)--perfect, I thought. Lemon rocks, especially when people don't drown the beautiful tart flavor in sweetness. These recipes don't seem to do that. Had to get a copy of the book for myself.

I bought this cookbook as a gift for Mother's Day, so I can't tell you about the quality of the recipes. However, I CAN tell you that this is a beautiful cookbook with gorgeous pictures! It has a great variety of lemon dessert recipes from traditional to fancy. I posted a few pictures in the customer images so you can see the Table of Contents, get an idea of the size of the book, as well as see how pretty the photography is.

I've made this book a gift several times over to friends who bake & Lemon lovers alike. It's well written, user friendly, easy to follow, & beautifully photographed. Just made the Lemon Meringue Pie, something that has intimidated me for decades. Now, I've made two! Absolutely delicious & beautiful! A real crowd pleaser. My other favorites are the Lemon Tart pictured on the cover & the superb Shortbread. I'm just going to continue until I try everything in this beautiful book. Ms. Longbotham shares real gems with personal anecdotes and an excellent glossary and explanation of ingredients. A treasure!

I started by borrowing this book. I meant to copy down a recipe or three. By the time I had 15 sticky notes, I knew I needed to buy it. There is a wonderful variety of lemon desserts. I have tried 3 so far and they have been excellent. I made the lemony chocolate tort, the goat cheese lemon cheese cake, and the candied lemon peels. The recipies range from very easy to fairly complicated. I can't wait to try the pound cake. That is the next one I will try. I bought two books and gave one to a friend. She was thrilled as well. It's a great gift idea.

I'm known amongst my friends and family as a lemon fiend. I'm always looking for a new recipe that includes my favorite fruit and nearly keeled over when I saw this book. Though I haven't tried any of the recipes yet, I was dieing with every flip of the page! This book has every kind of dessert, from cakes to cookies, tarts to puddings, even ice cream and candied lemon peel. Then there's the lemon sorbet-filled lemon, this is lemon sorbet IN a lemon. IN a LEMON! If you're a fellow lemon fiend then you will die over this book!

Made the cover recipe and it was a big hit! waiting for an excuse to try another recipe. I also have the chocolate cookbook by the same author and it's wonderful too!

I used to have a hard copy of this and lost it. The desserts out of this book are amazing and I enjoy making them

Sonny Liston was the biggest and baddest Heavyweight fighter of them all. He had a jackhammer jab, a left hook that had KO written all over it, and he was generally impervious to opponent's punches. He dominated the heavyweights from 1956-1964 (up until Clay). Yet, because of his lurid prison past, the sportswriters disliked him and he never got his "due" as a truly great heavyweight champion. Well, author Paul Gallender tries to right this wrong with his excellent book on Liston. He argues that Liston was not the thug that most writers made him out to be. He makes a fair case of showing the "softer" side of Liston, but from my perspective, the evidence is pretty thin that Liston was anybody's boy scout.Whenever the name Liston comes up in boxing talk, fans want to know the answers to these three questions: 1. Did Liston quit due to a legit injury in the first Clay fight, or was he told to quit? 2. Why did Liston throw the second Clay/Ali fight? 3. How did Liston really die?While the author adequately and convincingly answers question #1, it is apparent that he sheds no definitive light on the next two questions. Yes, he has theories, but he offers no more than any other book on these last two issues. And for me, this is the reason I purchased the book - to learn more about the dive with Ali and his "mysterious" death. Gallender disappoints on these last two points. Overall, Gallender makes a fine case for considering Liston one of the greatest heavies ever, and posits that only Ali could have beaten him. After reading this book, I tend to agree.I devoured this book in one day. It is a very different look at Liston, although I believe his favorable presentation of Liston is quite biased. The author downplays Liston's assault on a St. Louis policeman and his conviction for armed robbery, as well as his numerous arrests. Did the police harass Liston? Yes indeed. This book does a great tribute to Sonny Liston, who apparently is one of the most misunderstood celebrities of the Twentieth Century. That is probably the best thing the book accomplishes for the reader. The next best thing is that it prompts the reader to find even greater in-depth knowledge, which I will be doing when I finish this book. I am sorry to give a book that I believe to be such a great tribute to its subject three stars, but it is the most wretchedly proof-read book I have seen in a long time. Spelling errors abound, but what is even worse, when conveying information about public figures I found at least one misspelling of a person's name. If you are going to go out on a limb with sensitive information, the name in question absolutely must be correct. I don't care how "digital" your processes have become, great proof-reading apparently needs to be done by live, well-educated people.

Sonny Liston had one of the saddest lives imaginable.This book shows the many sides of Sonny Liston.I was a kid when Sonny was going to fight Floyd Patterson and everybody was talking about it.People treated Sonny horribly.A lot of writers wrote bad things about him then thought he was a moody when they talked to him.They called him a criminal,thug,animal,convict and mafia associate.At that time boxing was run by the mob and all fighters had dealings with them.Many things are addressed here like the Patterson fight,his childhood,Ali escapades and fights and his real age.Its too bad he did not have enough REAL FRIENDS.His true love was his kindness to children which makes him a good man.

Rarely has a public figure, a celebrity, lived a life that raised as many unanswered questions as Sonny Liston. The lineal heavyweight champion of the world was a man of seemingly endless contradictions. His life after losing the heavyweight title was lived under a shroud of murkiness. His death, to this day, is an unsolved mystery.Bob Mee, in his fine book about the intersection of Muhammad Ali and Liston in their two fights probes the psyche and life of Sonny Liston as completely up to that time as any writer ever has. He contrasts the personalities of the two athletes, and details the new breed of journalist of the time who had become lazy and self-centered, looking for glib athletes to feed them storylines, and tearing down those who would not cooperate. Liston was an easy target.Paul Gallender, in his first book, explores the myths of an athlete who never really had a fair shot in public opinion. A man who might have been a thug, but was a loyal friend. Who might have been one of the smartest heavyweight champions (aside from Gene Tunney), but was portrayed as an ignorant oaf. Who was a devoted husband, but a serial philanderer. Who had a lockdown training regimen, yet went soft and lazy prior to the Cassius Clay fight.Was he a decent, slightly flawed man just trying to make a living? Or was he a career criminal worthy of all the arrests and harassments from police departments in every city he lived in. He loved children, and was close to his clergy. Was that the true Liston, or was it the mob courier, as portrayed in James Ellmore "The Cold Six Thousand"?And what of Liston's life after the title? Does anyone really know how he supported himself? At some point, FBI files will de-classify, and maybe a truer picture can be painted. Bob Mee hints that Liston was running drugs outside of the mob's tacit approval, and this prompted his violent death.This book leaves many questions unanswered. While Gallender brings up, and brushes past many of Liston's rough edges, the drinking, the whoring, wild spending, the drug use, he does not thoroughly explore them, as much as his other inconsistent characteristics. While he extols Liston's virtues as a fighter, and there were many, he doesn't really break down his flaws in the ring.Still, this has to be considedered up to this time the definitive story of an American Sports enigma. Hats off to Mr. Gallender for his work.

Anyone who recalls John Masefield's "Sea Fever" can understand the reference and how it is associated with this book. In full disclosure, I did provide the author some feedback on his manuscript while he was working on it. The author also worked for me as adjunct faculty at George Mason University while I was the Associate Chair of the Department of Physics and Astronomy. Nonetheless, the pictures in this book is worth the price itself. There are 19 chapters in total. The first 13 chapters form a portion of the book called "Cruise Ship Astronomy." In reality it encompasses more than just astronomical content. There are also pictures and explanations of such atmospheric phenomena as aurora, noctilucent clouds, halos, rainbows and lightning. The second part of the book focuses on taking photographs, especially of astronomical objects, while at sea. I have often heard amateur astronomers talk about how important it is to have a stable platform to conduct astrophotography; so, imagine taking photographs on a ship at sea. Beyond the proverbial star to steer by, the author offers 10 rules of thumb for conducting astrophotography at sea. I believe that the details offered would be welcomed by any amateur or professional; as would this volume be a welcomed addition on any sky watcher's shelf.

A concise and lucid technical explanation of how electric, diesel and steam locomotives work. A 2nd edition of the original 1959 publication (which I also have). It is well illustrated with drawings and photographs, although there are no locomotive plans included.The book has nothing to do with simulators but it is a good prototype resource to have if you're into computer based train simulators, such as Microsoft Train Simulator, and you want a technical book about world railway/railroad MPU types and how they work, then this book is a must have..Captain Bazza

This book is helpful to managers in the agile software development industry. When reading this book it helps to be very tech savvy or you will have a hard time understanding it. It talks about the history of computer programming and the start of Scrum. It is a short book that is straight to the point for those owning a business and looking for help with agile project management. It covers topics ranging from principles to framework, how to adapt, activities, roles and concepts. It has a FAQ section as well as a glossary for things that may not be understood while reading! It is a very short but covers everything you need to know about Scrum. Even though I spent several years in management, I didn't find this book very helpful. I had hoped that the theory behind the method would be more applicable to a wider audience, but did not find that the case. I do "get" that for someone in the software development field this would probably be not only interesting and but useful, but it still comes off with a "don't reinvent the wheel" sort of feel. It went on (AT LENGTH) about how time had been wasted before the development of this management style that all I could think when I (finally!) finished the book was 'that was a waste of time!' BUT....as I said, for someone in the field or someone that just loves to gobble up information then this book might be for you. This book confused me more than I think any book has. I just couldn't wrap my head around it. I don't think that this is a basics type of book. I passed this onto a friend of mine that loves computers and computer programming, and he had a complete different experience with this book. He said that it had a lot of useful information for programmers especially if they are in charge of a group of people. This helps outline project management. He said it was easy to read as long as you already have the basic knowledge, and that this book is more for intermediate levels, and not to be fooled by "basics" being in the title. *I received this product in exchange of my honest opinion/review.

Scrum..what is Scrum? After reading this book i still am not sure. However i did learn a bit of agile methodology. This book yeaches how to be more efficant and productive with your job. There were some parts that i got confused but some parts just clicked and it was an "aha!" moment.The book also delves into other companies methods and how agile methodology helped them. It also gives nice history tidbits. Its well thought out and well written. Before reading this, I had no clue what Scrum was or what it meant. While reading this, I figured out that Scrum is an agile methodology that has been around since 1995. There are three roles in Scrum methodology which are Product Owner, Development Team, and Scrum Master. The sxrum master is the one who makes sure all sides are cooperating and communicating. I like how Scrum is about team work and working together, as opposed to other work environments that have people work individually doing their own work. Scrum works great in developing software and making sure to get all the bugs out early on.this is a great book for anyone in management that wants to learn about Agile or Scrum.I received this product for free in exchange for my honest and unbiased review.

This was an interesting read. I had never hear of Scrum or Agile product management until reading this book. Basically this is a system of organization for projects and time management -- which as a supervisor of several employees I found to be really informative. This guide provided a lot of information to help all employees feel like they are a part of the team instead of feeling like they don't matter. First I will start by saying I'm neither a software developer or project manager, but enjoyed reading this short informative book. Scrum basics discusses the history and principles of Agile project management in a simplified enough way for even those with no experience in the field to understand. It breaks down the differences in traditional offices compared to Agile ones and takes time to explain the terminology used in both the field as well as Scrum practice. I know from my experience the best results for implementing a new program has included using techniques mentioned in the agile method and being flexible. The scan work is the best I have ever seen, actually improving on the color registration and correcting other flaws in the source material.The oversiize format is terrific. Joe & Jack's art is often so crammed with detail that having it reproduced slightly larger than the old comic books really saves on the eye strain.Future volumes will focus on specific genres, but this comprehensive overview is the perfect way to kick off the series. Highly recommended to fans of pop culture in general and exciting, action-packed comics in particular.

As someone who read comics in the 1940s and always looked for the Simon and Kirby names on the cover this book is really a joy to read. Unlike the DC Archives this book is larger than a normal comic. The drawings are sharp and clear, the colors are as they should be, and the characters leap across the panels.Simon and Kirby got away from the newspaper comic panel layout and made the whole page a work of art. The characters jump out of the panels, giving a three dimensional look to the page that was missing in earlier comic books.I have always liked the work of Jack Kirby, a tremendous talent, but for me his best work was with Joe Simon. This book is a good selection of their work together over the years. I love it that Joe Simon, in his ninties, is involved with this project. And good news, there is more to come.This book comes highly recommended both as comic history and as book that is fun to read.

I wrote a lengthier review that disappeared, so here's an abbreviated one:Titan Books and Henry Mendryk really (who did the fantastic color reproduction) really outdid themselves with this beautiful tome. All of these varied S&K classics are in a large-size format, so you get to really examine the artwork. The color reproduction is flat out fantastic. The colors are obviously brighter than they would have been on the old newsprint printings when they were first published, but they are not garishly bright. Mendryk really put a lot of care into preserving the energy of the colors without making the pages look like they were done with the fancy digital coloring of the modern day. Even color bleeds are kept in. That is something I think could have been discarded, with the color bleeds fixed, but I respect the decision.The benday dots are visible, which helps to bring that old-comic feel to each page. I haven't read any of the text pieces yet, but given the quality of the contributors and the quality of the book itself, I'm sure they are top-notch.On the copyright page Titan has a list of upcoming/coming soon books in the S&K library, and they will make you drool, let me tell you.This is a worthy initial entry in the great feat of re-presenting Simon and Kirby works that have rarely been seen since their initial printings. I was particular tickled to see Stuntman in full color, which I have never seen before other than a few scans of the original stories.If you are a fan of the golden age, of Kirby and/or Joe Simon, of power-packed storytelling in all the known genres, or even a casual comic historian, I urge you to buy this book!

Joe Simon and Jack Kirby are truly two of the "founding fathers" of the comics industry. Without them, Captain America and other major characters would not exist. This book, the first in a series, provides a comprehensive overview of the characters and stories of all different genres. The color reproductions are breathtaking and set the standard of what SHOULD be done when comics are reproduced. Hats off to Steve Saffel (Spider-Man The Icon) for setting the bar high and whetting my appetite for the subsequent volumes that will be forthcoming from Titan Books. The fact that Joe Simon and the estate of Jack Kirby authorized and had input to the creation of this tome further validates the importance of these two gentlemen in the hitory of comics. Nicely done!

This is the kind of Cook Book that does not just sit on a shelf. I consistently pull this one down and create some really powerful dishes. It is worth the price just for the sauces and oils... if you grill much, then its a Win / Win.

Just cooked my first recipe out of the book for NYE dinner, pork tenderloin with bourbon-ancho sauce (pg. 166), amazing and tasted just like I had at the restaurant. Only thing I noticed was that the cooking times were a bit off, but that could be because the recipes were developed on a commercial stove not a home one. Not a big deal, just going to add a little time cushion in the future knowing it might take longer. Also, with it being the dead of winter I didn't have the ventilation I necessarily needed to sear with that chili rub. LOL! In the future I will use less or cook it outside so my guests do feel like they have been pepper sprayed, but it was well worth the few min. of suffering. :-) the pork has a really nice balance tons of flavor but not to hot, even my friend that thinks black pepper is sometimes hot loved it!

I love Bobby Flay and his Mesa Grill restaurant in Vegas. This cookbook has great recipes and is easy to follow. It truly brings the Southwest flavors and I was impressed with some of the simplicity of recipes that have such great flavors.

Fantastic book for making an amazing restaurant's dishes at home. Recipes are clear, not too complicated, and I usually only need one or two things different from the store than what I usually buy or have on hand. I learned a lot about chilies. My family is seriously impressed every time I use this cookbook.

Great cookbook for a foodie. Most recipes are multi step. Not much 30 minute meals, lol.

A perfect choice for me. I like his style of cooking and these recipes are a solid fit for me. Easy to follow recipes,too. I just hope I can do them justice. "Outdoor/Backyard Grillin'" is next !!!

My wife and I Love Bobby Flay's recipes!Nearly everything we've tried, we've loved.My only reservation is that there are a lot of ingredients and the recipes take time ... something we need to make the occasion for on weekends. He also has some hard to find ingredients ... which is fine by us, since our spice rack is now much more stocked.His blending of sweet with just the right amount of heat is just great.One note on the book construction is that we had to return the book for a replacement 3 times to finally get one that didn't crack the attachment of the binding, usually toward the front section of the book. When simply leaving the book open while cooking it would crack the binding inside the book and would loosen the pages where they looked like they would fall out over time. Amazon was great and said they'd hold future sales of the book until it was resolved and told us to wait a few months or so to order it again if we wanted to. Of course we did want another copy, so we ordered our replacement ~10 months later and the book was of a much better quality.All in all, we look forward to buying more Bobby Flay books, he truly is a great chef and recipes keep our taste buds very happy.

I watched Bobby Flay's biography on television and his cooking seemed so interesting I thought I would purchase one of his books and and give it a try.First, the recipes are easy to follow - though several steps are required during preparation the end result is well worth the effort. The results are fantastic. Before viewing his biography my mind set was that most of the food would be too spicy. Not so. The recipes include some heat but it seems the heat is nicely complimented with sweet and citrus flavors. The combination is indescribable. The prickly pear margarita is especially delicious and so are the salads.If you are looking to create unforgettable dishes with lots of fresh flavor this is the book to use.

When my husband told me his new favorite restaurant in Las Vegas was Table Mesa, I had to get this cookbook. Bobby Flay really walks you through the basic ingredients in his restaurant. He shows you more than just a few recipes in this book! If you like a little heat with a flair of elegance... this is the book for you!

Hollie Anne Marsh is an Australian author who lives in Barcelona, Spain with her partner, baby boy, and Oldenburg horse, Frieda. I enjoyed this romp through the British countryside and would recommend Sweetbriars for any pre-teen (9-12 years) horse-crazy reader! Sweetbriars is a good, wholesome story filled with lessons for any horse-lover â€” for beginner or advanced riders. I really liked how Marsh was very detailed in the barn and riding scenes and explained horse terminology, movements, etc. The main character, Cate, is very knowledgeable concerning horses and her two friends, Tabby & Violet, are as well. However, there is a Sophia character that doesnâ€™t know anything about horses and I really enjoyed seeing Cate teach her things - like how horses shed in summer and get thicker coats in winter and how you donâ€™t need to brush a horseâ€™s teeth, but they do need dental work because their teeth keep growing.This book also shows how riding isnâ€™t easy and it takes hard work and commitment to get better. I also love that this book features dressage. I donâ€™t run across many fictional books that feature a dressage rider (Cate) and the author did an amazing job of describing her lessons and tests (at the horse show). This is a wonderful start to a middle grade series and Iâ€™m curious if the next book will continue to follow Cate or if the sequel will follow Tabby or Violet â€” two of the other girls in the friend group.

I was delighted to read Hollie's book. It brought memories back to me, when i was riding, had lessons, went galloping along the beach, rote through the forest. Well, that was now a long time ago.The reader will be brought into the story, as if they are riding, galloping, jumping on the horse. and they will learn a great deal about horses, if they don't know yet. A glossary is at the end, to clarify things.Brilliantly written with great characters. A must read for Horse lovers.Jump with the horse. It also is very positive read. And never give up. Pushing forward.And the adventure will continue.

I just finished reading the first Sweetbriars book. It was a nice easy read and I really enjoyed it. It is a perfect book for a middle school aged, horse crazy girl. There's a lot of excitement for a young Cate and her Palomino Odette when her family moves to a horse farm in the English countryside. The author does a great job of describing life with and around horses. If you have a teenage daughter or you love horses as much as I do. You'll enjoy giving this book a read. I look forward to future books in the Sweetbriars series!

What an absolutely sweet and engaging story! I am weak for anything about horses, and I had a feeling this novel would feed my â€œaffliction.â€ I'm glad it did, in fact. This story swept me away.To summarize, Cate and her family moved to the Devon countryside from Hertfordshire, and she had to leave behind all that she knew in life: her best friend, Beth, her classmates, the familiar landscape, et cetera. One of the best things, though, about moving to the country is that the family now lived on a horse farm, where she could ride with her mom and brother, help her dad, and engage and compete in the pony club. Cate makes a friend in Violet, a quirky girl who is also feeling the effects of a new environment. Over time, Cate and her newfound friends get to know the mysterious Sophia, a girl who isnâ€™t quite like the rest of them, but still loves horses, too. Ah, the comfort of shared passions!I canâ€™t say enough good about â€œLeaving the City.â€ The masterful writing skills of the author impressed me greatly. I was reading a story, yet I felt completely immersed in the tale, the environments, the conversations, and the understanding of different personalities and cultures. At the end of this wonderful, wonderful story is a chapter on all the horse lingoâ€”â€œfrom ears to tailâ€â€”that the reader should know to help round the understand of everything equestrian.This book brought back some good memories for me, in the days of my childhood where I sometimes rode horses at the stable just eight blocks from my house, to the mornings after breakfast when I would ride my bicycle to that stable, sit on the fence, and watch and dream while I watched older kids take lessons. It was a rare occasion when I would have the three dollars saved so I could ride a horse for one hour in the ring, or venture across the street to the forest preserve and pretend I was Joan of Arc or Dale Evans (It didnâ€™t matter who, as long as I was riding a horse!). â€œLeaving the Cityâ€ has a lot of scenarios that are reminiscent of events I personally went through: Changing towns and schools at â€œthat awkward pre-teen ageâ€ stage, my love of horses and riding, and the politics of making new friends and navigating a new type of life.I highly recommend â€œLeaving the City.â€ This is a good book for those who love horses and enjoy stories of growing up. I give it ten out of ten horseshoes. It would make a dandy, thoughtful gift for a young person who loves to read, and who wants to get lost in the equestrian world. I loved this book. I absolutely loved Adorkable, it was one of my favorite books of last year and one of those books where after I was done reading it the first time I just wanted to read it all over again immediately. And I waited for this book for what seemed like forever, the anticipation was absolutely terrible, in the best possible way. And when it popped up on goodreads with a premise that sounded even better than I hoped it would be, my excitement just tripled. I loved this so, so much. I laughed, I cried, I laughed some more. I loved these characters so much, Ash can be so sweet and yet dense sometimes, and Snow is the most amazing female main character from a contemporary EVER. She is so completely awesome, and cool, and is so capable yet unsure of herself when it comes to dealing with Ash at times. There's a little mystery in there, I knew who did it from the beginning, but it was fun to see the characters figure it out. There's a lots of action scenes, and those were really awesome too. Overall if you loved Adorkable than you'll love this too, I completely recommend it, though now I'm left to wait more time until Cookie's next book comes out. Oh well, I'll just have read Adorkable again to tide me over.

Ninja Girl was the most adorable story ever. Seriously, I can't get over how cute it was! I picked this book up because I fell madly in love with Adorkable, this author's first release. And now I've fallen just as hard for her second release, Ninja Girl. So if you adore ya romance that makes you smile, laugh and leaves you feeling oh so happy, then I highly recommend Ninja Girl! And Adorkable too, if you haven't read that one yet.Now you have to know, I had already fallen for Ash Stryker in Adorkable. So I was over the moon happy to hear that he was going to get his own book! But things have changed since Adorkable ended. Ash has had to move to a new school. And this one doesn't have a soccer team, soccers his passion in life fyi. As if that wasn't enough, his father has been receiving threats to get him to drop out of the Senate race. So security guards have been hired to protect them. And down the road, Snow will be one of them.Snow-Swoon Lee meets Ash for the first time at the movie theater, when he's with two of his security guards. The other girls at the theater were making fun of her for being clueless about boys. Snow knew she was inexperienced, but she wanted to show them she wasn't as clueless as they thought she was. So Snow literally drops in, steals a kiss from Ash, and escapes from his security guards. It was so fierce and brave, I love it! Her confidence over what she could physically do was amazing and made me so proud of her. It was so easy to like Snow right away.From that one interaction, leas to more. And after an attack, Snow gets hired to guard and protect Ash at school. And thanks to getting to alternate between the two of them, we get to hear how much Ash is interested in Snow. He is determined to kiss her again, but with Snow taking her job seriously it isn't going to be easy. So I kept wondering how Ash was going to get Snow to cave.Thankfully Ash was beyond cocky and confident. He knew exactly what he wanted, and that was Snow. And Ash wasn't afraid to let it be known. So his attempts at even just talking with Snow had me cracking up while also sighing at the same time. Ash was seductive while also being hilarious without even trying. And I quickly got caught up in his spell! Granted he made mistakes at times, but I loved that he wasn't perfect. It made me love him and his faults that much more.Besides Snow and Ash there were so many other wonderful things in the pages. Such as previous characters, since we got to see Sally and Becks *jumps up and down*. Also I adored the side characters. Snow's best friends Min-Hee and Bae Bae had so much depth. And if that wasn't enough, I was shocked to find that I had sweaty palms during some moments. Wheeeeee that was fun!So yes I definitely recommend Ninja Girl, plus Adorkable if you haven't read that yet! Or if you've read Adorkable and loved Ash then there's a good chance that you'll fall madly in love with this book too! Cookie O'Gorman has officially gone onto my favorite authors list, and I can't wait to read all of her future releases!P.S. I'm going to throw out a huge random guess that the next book is about Sadie. Fingers crossed.

I adored Ninja Girl. I adored it so much. I thought I might considering I loved Cookie O'Gorman's Adorkable, but I loved it even more than that book. Ninja Girl was one of those books that made me happy the entire time I was reading it. It was so cute!Ninja Girl is a book I will want my daughter to read when she's older because of how Snow's character was portrayed. It's how every female character should be portrayed. Snow was physically and mentally strong, and she was super smart. She had her insecurities just like all teenage girls, but Snow knew those things weren't what was important at the end of the day. I loved that Snow was the hero of the story.Another cool thing about Snow was that she was Korean. I don't know much about the Korean culture, so I can't say whether it was a good representation or not, but I liked how it was included in everything from food to family to language. It was cool to see how Snow's life experiences compared to Ash's.Ash was your typical YA love interest. He gets bonus points, though. Ash may have wanted to be "the man" and save his woman at times, but he also respected the fact that she could save herself. He was able to let go of what society might suggest is what should be or happen, and let Snow guide him. It made their relationship equal. I loved it.Snow's character was my favorite part of this book, but the plot was a close second. I loved the mystery behind it (even though I could guess who it was). It was fun how Snow and her mom worked into that. I also liked how it set up Snow and Ash's relationship.I can't get over how stinking cute Ninja Girl was! Seriously, everything about it was cute. It was exactly what I'm looking for when I reach for a YA contemporary romance. Ninja Girl has officially cemented Cookie O'Gorman as one of my go-to YA authors. You need to read it!

Snow has to be one of my favorite book heroines EVER! She is a total badass, but with a vulnerable, insecure side to her, as well. And as much as I loved Adorkable, I think I loved this book even more because we got to see the story from both Snow and Ash's perspectives, which is always fun. I absolutely loved this book- everything from the way Snow was able to bring Ash down a peg or two, to the way he was able to convince her she could be tough as nails and still be feminine and desirable.I could not be happier that I found Cookie O'Gorman- this is the second novel of hers that I have read in as many days, and I'm off to buy another one. I hope she never stops writing, because her style is a delight to read.
