Stumbled upon this find while looking for expat reads. I was instantly hooked after :looking inside" and read it straight through. I can't wait to read more of this authors books! I love books I can read that completely take me away and make me feel as though I am right there in the story or watching first-hand. I adored this <3 Never a dull moment, it kept getting better and better. I especially enjoyed how it didn't end abruptly-like most reads. You know how you just really don't want it to end? This author keeps giving more and more to the last sentence. Not over-done, it is perfect! It feels complete and I have closure. No wondering or uneasiness...I am deliriously tired as it is 2 am, I am hoping I am leaving a fabulous review. :) highly recommend this book!!
This book. Where do I even start?I read this because my book club picked it. It is probably not something I would have chosen on my own. That being said, I gave it a chance, and thought it started okay. Then I started noticing things.First, why the shifting points of view? Lizzy and Ren tell their story in first person, Ty is inexplicably in second person, and Kylie is in third person. Why? It was really distracting to me.Second, way too much explanation of each character's movements. "He gets up ... walks to his left around the table ... lifts his arm at a 52 degree angle, stares hungrily into my eyes with his electric blue eyes ..." blah blah blah ... zzzzzz ...Third, what is with the ridiculous kidnaping of the daughter? It barely fits with the plot. There had to be some way to get Ty and Lizzy home from Italy that was not completely contrived.By the end of the book I was going to lose it if one more character "raked his hand" through his hair. Seriously.Overall, I teach high school kids who are stronger writers than this. Save your money.
As I've been in Tuscany just recently, the title of this book appealed to me. I loved every page from start to finish. Brought back memories of my own time in this picturesque place. What I appreciated about this book is the decency of no sex scenes just good romance.
First of all, I love stories that take place in Italy, beautiful, enchanting Italy. It is such a romantic country.This grandma loved "That Month in Tuscany." I could not put it down once I read the first page. I was so happy that Lizzy chose to go to Italy by herself and even happier when she met Ren. I was hoping they both stayed in Italy and didn't go back but life happens and Lizzy had to go back.I loved the ending - beautiful story, makes me wish I was young again. I would create a month in Tuscany. Tuscany has been calling my soul for years. I hope to see it one day. For now, I settle for seeing Tuscany vicariously, through the eyes of wonderful authors like Inglath Cooper.
I chose this rating because, this book caught my attention from the first page and never let it go. Lizzy had a little of me, even the marriage relationship with her husband Ty reached out to me. A twentieth anniversary and a husband who is married to his career and is just selfish. There are twists and turns and a lot of Italy scenery.Lizzy feeling alone comes to life again while in the company of Ren Swayer a rock star. They are both running from the life they have created and end up running away from it together. He reignites things within her she thought was dead.You will enjoy this book thoroughly.
I am one of those readers, who, even though I have a ton of books to read, will still buy more. Frantically, almost like they will disappear.I am not doing anything to improve this condition. :)Amazon suggested this book to me and after reading about it, I wondered why, because I super rarely ever read romance. Especially the boy-meets-girl-loses girl-will he get the girl back?- type of Romance.I downloaded a sample, and was semi-hooked as I started reading.I was afraid with the Rockstar in it, it would give me too much of an 80's vibe. Now, the 80's were awesome, but unless it's the movie Sixteen Candles or Pretty In Pink, I'm not interested.However, this did NOT give me an 80's vibe at all.At the end of the sample, I purchased the rest of the book. Granted, it was predictable in a few places, but overall it was a very, very enjoyable read. So much so, that while I was on a conference call that didn't require much of my attention, I finished reading it on the Kindle app on my smartphone.ALL of the characters are solid and well rounded. The story flowed and was beautiful. This book was originally titled Rock Her, but I feel the new title is so much better! And so much more fitting.That Month in Tuscany . . .Ren Sawyer and Lizzy Harper live completely different lives. He’s a rock star with a secret he can no longer live with.
