As someone who considers myself and avid reader and who is a Christian, I must say Terri Ann Johnson handled the subject of standing on Faith and walking in Faith well.The pacing of the story at first seemed off or slower. But then it picked up so much so that you may want it to slow down. You see a lot has to take place with a novella in a short amount of time. Time that if not used wisely can be wasteful. Therefore, we have Brian, LaChelle, and John. Talk about a tragic set of circumstances that lead to the ultimate test of Faith.Death has a way of making you put lots of things into perspective. After reading about Brian, you look at community and commitment different. You look at family and marriage differently. You recognize that love truly is an action. That standing on your Faith can and will get you through.Then you have LaChelle who is tested, and shows the embodiment of your Faith in action. That even in your season of doubt and uncertainty, the test is won with Faith.I love the importance of love and solid foundation. I love the friends and sisterhood that was woven throughout. Everyone needs good quality girlfriends.Through it all the story had redemption and the will of God . I think you'll enjoy and want more after reading.
While dealing with the loss of her husband Brian, Lachelle must deal with a high risk pregnancy she thinks alone. But her village pulls together for her and her unborn child. There’s the issue of John there visiting the gravesite of their firstborn and closure is found but what about them?This was an very well written emotional read. Wow, I can’t wait to see what happens in part two.The music plugins were very appropriately selected!Kudos to the author on her first book! I look forward to more of her work!
Lachelle Jackson wanted nothing more than to be a servant to the Lord and loving wife. But her world as she knew it was about to change. Realizing that she is pregnant, Lachelle faced a fear that practically left her paralyzed. Her husband Brian convenience d her that Faith Alone would sustain them. However, a sudden tragedy broke her spirit. It was her faith, friends and an apology from someone in the past that should Lachelle that her Faith Alone was all she needed. .Terri Ann Johnson penned a story that was moving and inspirational. This was the first story that I read by this author and I look forward to reading more. #cillasbookmaniacs
Wow is an understatement. This story made me laugh & it made me cry. I felt like I was right there with Lachelle & felt all the raw emotions she felt. This book....in a word. Superb. I don't want to spoil it....but loss, restoration, forgiveness, redemption..........just a smorgasbord of GODS GOODNESS can be found in the pages of this book. Whether ur looking for a great, clean read or u need some encouragement in ur faith walk, this book delivers. A reminder that u can't have Sunday (resurrection) without Good Friday (crucifixion)!!!! Bring on "Switched". U rocked it!!!!!
This was a great introduction to Terri Ann Johnson. I was not sure how Terri was going to redeem Lachelle's story as there were so many turns in the story that I struggled with. The book explores losing a child, and losing a husband, and how faith alone upheld Lachelle. She did redeem the story though - not all doom and gloom! I would recommend this story as it is a good and clean Christian read. Looking forward to the next instalment from this author.
I LOVED this novel by Terri Ann Johnson. I was pulled in from the very beginning (why would she NOT want to tell her HUSBAND she was pregnant????) and turned every page WANTING to know more! All the twists and turns kept me involved, interested, and emotional connected. It didn’t hurt that I’m a native Washingtonian so the sites included are all too familiar! Terri handled the subjects of loss, faith, sisterhood, and the necessity of a village surrounding you sooo very well!!! I cannot WAIT for her next novel!!!! I feel like I’m family!
This was one of those reads that pulled at my heartstrings and kept me in anticipation of the outcome. First off all, I loved that the character was my namesake. It’s very rare. Lachelle suffered tragic losses that shook her faith, but thanks to the village of people that surrounded her, she never lost it. This was a great debut from this author.
